Bronze, gegossen, ziseliert und goldfarben patiniert. Vorne am Sockel, über einem Lorbeerkranz, bezeichnet „Nikolaus I“. Gestufter quadratischer Sockel mit klassizistischer Basis und aufstehender gefußter Figur des Zaren, neben einer nach oben gerichteten Kanone und im Gehen begriffen, der Blick streng nach vorne gerichtet.
Dietrich war Schüler von Johan Friedrich Drake (1805-1882) in Berlin und besuchte die Kunstakademie bei Christian Daniel Rauch (1777-1857) und Christian Friedrich Tieck (1776-1851). Mit dem Modell von Nikolaus I 1796-1855 gelang Dietrich der Durchbruch und die Statuette wurde vervielfältigt. (12111735) (13)

Bronze; cast, chased and with golden patina. Inscribed “Nikolaus I” at front above laurel wreath.
