Maria in kardinalrotem, nach unten hin beiderseits weit ausschwingendem Mantel mit prächtiger Goldbordüre, in eine nahansichtige Landschaft gesetzt. Das Gesicht ist lieblich und jugendlich wiedergegeben, der sanfte Blick auf das Kind gerichtet, das sie in den Armen hält und die Brust reicht. Die Marienfigur vom dahinter in die Ferne ziehenden Landschaftsverlauf getrennt durch einen Bach, über den rechts ein schmaler Holzsteg führt. Im Hintergrund links ein Bauernhaus mit Figurenstaffage, zur rechten Anhöhe hin Obstbäume, unter denen ein Mann steht, der nach einer Frucht greift. Am Horizont, in blauer Luftperspektive, die Silhouette einer Stadt unter blauem Wolkenhimmel. (1191778) (7) (11)
