Die Vedute zeigt von der Hauptwasserstraße Venedigs aus im Mittelpunkt die grau-weiße Kirche Santa Maria della Salute unter hohem Himmel mit kleinen Wolken, dessen Farbspektrum durch die Sonne von einem zarten Rosa auf der linken Seite über Hellblau, Türkis bis zu dunklerem Blau auf der oberen rechten Bildseite reicht. Auf dem Wasser zahlreiche Boote mit Figuren; am rechten Bildrand eine Uferanlage, an der an einem Treppenaufgang eine größere Gondel angelegt hat. Die Gebäude spiegeln sich in vielen, fast flimmernden Farbtönen im ruhigen, impressionistisch wiedergegebenen Wasser. Qualitätvolles stimmungsvolles Gemälde eines Sommertages voller Farbenvielfalt.
