Das um 1920-1930 entstandene Gemälde zeigt ein südfranzösisches Dorf in Aufsicht, welches Soutine von der Spitze eines Hanges aus portraitierte. Die Häuser und selbst die hohen schlanken Zypressen sind aufgrund des ungewöhnlichen Blickwinkels in optischer Verkürzung dargestellt. (†)
