BLÜTENZWEIGE UMGEBEN VON INSEKTEN UND MUSCHELN Öl auf Kupfer.
Sichtmaß: 20 x 25 cm.
Links unten signiert.
In ausgewogener Komposition gruppieren sich verschiedenartige Insekten wie Schmetterlinge, Falter und Käfer sowie Muscheln und Meeresschnecken um zwei zarte Blütenzweige mit sternförmigen weißen bzw. violettfarbenen größeren Blüten. Die Komposition geschickt ausponderiert indem etwa die größeren Schmetterlinge links und rechts oben den gewichtigeren Meeresschnecken rechts unten entsprechen. Die Zwischenräume werden gefüllt durch einen Holzbock am linken Bildrand und kleinere Käfer, der Kleinste rechts außen mit roten, weiß getupften Flügeln. Die gemalten Objekte bilden auf dem beige-grauen Grund jeweils feine Schatten; die Feinmalerei repräsentiert ganz die Virtuosität und Qualität des Künstlers.

Various insects such as butterflies, moths and beetles as well as mussels and rock snails are grouped around two delicate blossom branches with star-shaped large white and purple blossoms in a balanced composition. The quality and virtuosity of the fine painting in this work is typical for Jan van Kessel.
