Italienischer Maler des Impressionismus. Er war einer der Gründer der Schule von Resina in Neapel. Später zog de Nittis nach Paris, wo er bis zu seinem Tode lebte. In Paris lernte er Camille Pissarro (1830 - 1903), Gustave Caillebotte (1848 - 1894), Giovanni Boldini (1842 - 1931), John Singer Sargent (1856 - 1925), Jacques-Émile Blanche (1861 - 1942), Edvard Munch (1863 - 1944) und Edgar Degas (1834 - 1917), der seine Werke später beeinflusste, kennen.L'ATTENTE Pastell auf Seide.

Giuseppe de Nittis,
1846 Barletta - 1884 Saint-Germain/ Paris
Italian Impressionist painter. He was the founder of the School of Resina in Naples. De Nittis later moved to Paris where he remained until his death and became acquainted with Camille Pissarro, Gustave Caillebotte, Giovanni Boldini, John Singer Sargent, Jacques-Émile Blanche, Edvard Munch and Edgar Degas, who influenced his later works.
