55 x 75 cm.
With manufacturer’s embossed trefoil by Michel Claessens on the reverse and therefore dateable to 1617/ 1620.
A tumultuous scene set in a Dutch barn interior with a large fireplace with armoured plundering soldiers and women trying to resist them. Portrayal of everyday life during 17th century conflicts.
