Das hölzerne Brettkreuz schwarz gefärbt, die Schnitzfigur farbig gefasst. Die Heilige, der laut Legende ein Bart wuchs, nachdem sie von ihrem heidnischen Vater vergeblich gezwungen wurde und sich weigerte, einen Mann zu heiraten, erbat von Gott ihre Entstellung. Vom Vater zum Kreuzestod verurteilt, wird sie seither auch in der hier dargestellten Weise verehrt. Wie Christus ist sie ans Kreuz geheftet, hier in einem höfischen Kleid mit Krone und Brustschmuck.
Die aus Portugal stammende Legende hat sich weit über das Abendland verbreitet und fand vor allem in Tirol Verehrung. Eine ähnliche Figur befand sich in Fulneck in Tirol. (1041751) (11)
