Abstrakte Komposition überwiegend in Rot, Schwarz und Blau auf Weiß.
Der bedeutende Künstler der italienischen Moderne studierte in Florenz und Venedig und stellte erstmals 1928 gemeinsam mit seinen Brüdern Dino, Mirco und Alessandro Filipponi seine Werke auf der 1. Mostra della Scuola Friulana d’Avanguardia aus. Ab 1932 in Mailand, 1937 in Rom, 1938 Teilnahme an der Biennale Venedig. Dort wiederholt 1942, später wurden seine Werke merklich vom Einfluss des Kubismus geprägt. Ab 1948 begann seine abstrakte Phase. In den 50er Jahren arbeitete er mit Künstlern in New York zusammen, wo er seine Werke ausstellte. Neben vielen anderen bedeutenden Präsentationen seiner Werke sind die Documenta in Kassel zu nennen, Biennale Venedig, San Francisco und Santa Barbara. 1971 wurde er in Rom mit dem Nationalpreis der Malerei der Republik ausgezeichnet.

Signed and dated (19)”66” lower right.
Verso label inscribed “Toninelli Arte Moderna, Milano”.
Mounted in a modern, white frame, framed behind glass with a golden mount.

Abstract composition, predominantly in red, black and blue on white.
The renowned Italian modernist artist studied in Florence and Venice, initially exhibited his works in 1928 alongside his brothers Dino, Mirco and Alessandro Filipponi, at the 1st Mostra della Scuola Friulana d’Avanguardia. From 1932 in Milan, 1937 in Rome, in 1938 he took part in the Venice Biennale and again in 1942. Later, his works were notably influenced by Cubism. His abstract phase started from 1948. In the 1950s he collaborated with artists in New York, where he also exhibited his works. Alongside many other significant exhibitions of his works, the following should be mentioned: Documenta in Kassel, Venice, San Francisco and Santa Barbara Biennales. In 1971 he was awarded Presidente della Repubblica Prize in Rome.
