(1012301) (12)

Agostino Bonalumi,
1935 Vimercate - 2013

BIANCO, 1977

Tempera on canvas.
50 x 50 cm.
Verso signed on canvas.
Framed with glass.

A copy of the certificate by the Archivio Bonalumi, where the work is listed with number 77 - 030, is enclosed.

Alongside his education as a drafter, he taught himself painting and trained in the workshop of Enrico Baj in the late 1950s. He was a member of the artist group ZERO and a founding member of the group “Nouvelle Ecole Européenne”. His works have been displayed at numerous exhibitions, such as the Guggenheim Museum in Venice in 2002 or the Biennales in Venice, Sao Paolo and Paris. Typical for his works of the 1970s, the artist creates a distinct three-dimensionality on the present, monochrome white artwork through its relief structure. Without using any other painterly elements, it is merely the shadowing of the geometrical layout of the canvas, which gives this work structure.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
