Strenger quadratischer Aufbau in Messing, allseits feuervergoldet, auf gestelzten Halbkugel-Füßen. Grund- und Deckelprofil kragen weit vor. An den Seiten gerahmte, verglaste Einblicke ins Werk. Oberseite fein floral graviert, mit rundem versilbertem Ziffernring mit gravierten römischen Stunden und arabischen Minuten. Im Zentrum Weckerzeile, vergoldete Innenscheibe mit nochmaliger, arabischer Stundenangabe. Zeiger gebläut. Kettenaufzug über Schnecken per Schlüssel. Werk von der mit Glocke besetzten Bodenplatte hochklappbar: feine, durchbrochen gearbeitete Unruhabdeckung, zusätzliches Stunden-Einstell-Hilfsziffernblatt, möglicherweise für Weckfunktion. Zwei Glockenhämmer. Eintagegehwerk mit Schnecke und Kette.
Der Uhrmacher aus französischer Familie, die wohl wie viele andere in Ansbach ansässigen Kunsthandwerker infolge der Hugenottenvertreibung aus Frankreich nach Franken gelangten, hat nachweislich sowohl in Ansbach, als auch in Fürth gearbeitet. Bekannt ist, dass er 1702 die Witwe des Peter Schegs ehelichte und nach 1711 nach Fürth zog. Dort begründete er eine blühende Kleinuhrenmacherei. Nicht auf Funktionsfähigkeit geprüft. A.R.
