Die Authentizität des Werks wurde vom Wildenstein Institut bestätigt, Paris, 27. September 2013. Das Werk wird in den Catalogue critique des peintures, dessins et céramiques de Maurice de Vlaminck aufgenommen.
Sich in die Bildtiefe hineinwölbende, runde Tischplatte, darauf eine Keulenvase mit wenig ausladendem, dezentem Blumenstrauß, dessen Blüten in ihrer Bedeutung in Gleichklang stehen mit dem in verschiedenen Grün, Blau- und Weißtönen schimmerndem Hintergrund, welcher als Folie dient. Für de Vlaminck vergleichsweise helle Komposition.
Bedeutender französischer Maler der Moderne in dem Kreis französischer Künstler, der vor allem in enger Freundschaft mit André Derain (1880-1954) wirkte und die Entstehung des Fauvismus einleitete. Als Postimpressionist wurde er zeitweise von dem Galeristen Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler betreut. 1955 Teilnehmer der documenta 1 in Kassel. 2008 Würdigung seiner Werke durch eine Ausstellung im Musée du Luxembourg in Paris.
