VENICE, VIEW OF SAINT MARK'S BASIN ON ASCENSION DAY
Oil on canvas. Relined.
69 x 80 cm.
Accompanied by an expert's report by Dario Succi, Gorizia, in copy.
According to Succi, the painting is clearly related to the large painting The Return of Bucintoro on the Feast of the Ascension, which Canaletto executed in 1729 as a commissioned work. He dates the present painting to the mid-1750s.
