In einer hügeligen römischen Landschaft treibt rechts ein Hirte sein Vieh durch eine Furth. Im Vordergrund jedoch die in der Nähe eines jungen Baumes lagernde Venus bar fast jeden Sichtschutzes. Begleitet wird sie von einem Cupiden, der ihr eben einen Dorn aus der Ferse gezogen hat, und zwei weiteren Cupiden, die eine Taube einmal festhalten und einmal an einer Leine fliegen lassen; am Boden Köcher und Bogen.
