Das Werk wurde vom Komittee Utrillo-Valadon, Paris, authentifiziert.
Maurice Utrillo war der Sohn von Suzanne Valadon (1865–1938), selbst eine bekannte Malerin. Den Nachnamen hatte er von einem katalanischen Maler, der offiziell die Vaterschaft für ihn übernahm. Seine Signatur „Maurice Utrillo V.“ verweist allerdings auch auf den Nachnamen der Mutter, die lebenslang für ihn prägend blieb und mit der er gemeinsame Ateliers führte.
