Blick über eine weite Flusslandschaft, im warmen Licht der untergehenden Sonne, an dessen vorderem Ufer einige Hirten mit ihren Schafen und Ziegen rasten. Auf dem links entlangführenden Weg ist gerade ein Pferdefuhrwerk unterwegs, zudem sitzt ein Angler an dem ruhig fließenden Wasser. Seitlich wird das Bild begrenzt, in der Mitte liegt ein lichtdurchflutetes Wäldchen und im Vordergrund ein alter knorriger Baum und ein Baumstumpf. Über das Wasser hinweg zwei Bergkuppen, davon eine mit einer alten Burg, unter hohem hellblauen, durch die Sonne teils rötlich verfärbten Himmel und Wolken. Randretuschen. (1251111) (1) (18)
