Weite lichtdurchdunstete hügelige Landschaft mit zentralem, weit verästeltem, belaubtem Baum unter dem sich eine pastorale Szene abspielt. Mehrere Figuren haben sich im Schatten des Baumes niedergelassen. Die Darstellung geht auf ein Gemälde von Jacob Philipp Hackert zurück, das von Nordhoff und de Seta publiziert wurde und möglicherweise darauf hindeutet, dass es sich bei dem hier angebotenen Gemälde um ein autografes Werk handeln könnte. Das in der Literatur verzeichnete Gemälde ist jedoch im Querformat ausgeführt und zeigt links eine Flusslandschaft.
