In südlicher Landschaft unter ockerfarbenem bis rötlichen Himmel ein antiker, übergroßer, rechteckiger Steinsarkophag mit eingesetzten figurativen Platten auf einem Sockel. Davor, auf einer Bank in Rückenansicht sitzend drei Figuren, die auf den Sarkophag blicken und gleichzeitig einen Größenvergleich ermöglichen.
Seit 1923 beschickte der Künstler den Salon d´Automne und den Salon des Tuileries in Paris. Zu seinen Werken gehören Bildnisse, Landschaften, Figürliches, Illustrationen. Bekannt war er für seine Bühnen-Kostümentwürfe.
