Messingbronze, gegossen, rötlich patiniert. Über einem mitgegossenen Rundkehlsockel die auf einem antikischen Stuhl sitzende Person des antiken Mathematikers. Vor ihm eine auf dem Tisch stehende Destillerieapparatur, welche er durch einen Tretblasebalg anfeuert.

Ein Tisch im neoklassischem Stil, dessen Bronzen von Hébert gefertigt wurden, befindet sich im Musée d'Orsay. Die National Gallery of Art in Washington verwahrt eine Amazone in Bronze von 1860. (1020184) (13)

Brass and bronze, cast, reddish patina.

A neoclassical style table for which Herbert made the bronzes, is located in the Musée d'Orsay. The National Gallery of Art in Washington holds an Amazon in bronze from 1860.
