In einem Innenraum, der durch einen Gewölbebogen und ein Feston an Tiefe gewinnt sitzt an einem Tisch eine Frau mit weißer Haube und geöffnetem Westerwälder Steinzeugkrug, aus dem sie soeben ein Stangenglas wohl nicht das erste Mal am Tag gefüllt hat.
Der Maler war Schüler seines Vaters David Ryckaert II (1586-1642) und wurde bekannt durch seine Handwerker-, Bauern- und Gesellschaftsbilder. Sein Werk zeigt sich stark beeinflusst von David Teniers d. Ä. (1582-1649), dessen Sohn David Teniers d. J. (1610-1690) und den späten Werken Adriaen Brouwers (1605/06-1638). Werke seiner Hand in zahlreichen öffentlichen Sammlungen.(1401213) (1) (13)
