Den Blick über das Tal der nach hinten in Windungen sich hinziehenden Donau von erhöhtem Standpunkt aus aufgefasst. Im Vordergrund am Ufer mehrere Personen sowie Schiffer in Kähnen, rechts hinten an einer Landzunge die Marktgemeinde Artstetten, links erhöht über dem Ufer die Schlossanlage. Das im Bezirk Melk gelegene, niederösterreichische Gut wurde erstmals im 13. Jahrhundert erwähnt und war bis ins 15. Jahrhundert im Besitz derer von Aehrendorf.
Die Landschaft ist im Spätlicht wiedergegeben, der Wolkenhimmel über lichtgelbem Sonnenuntergang. (1021971) (11)

The oldest written evidence of this Lower Austrian manor in the district of Melk dates to the 13th century and it remained in the possession of the “von Aehendorf“ family up until the 15th century.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
