Pittoreske Hafenszene, im Vordergund ziehen Fischer ein Netz aus dem Wasser. Dominiert wird die märchenhaft idealisierte Szenerie von der Ruine eines römischen Triumphbogens. Der Künstler orientiert sich an antiker Formensprache und der italienischen Landschaftsmalerei der vorangegangenen Jahrhunderts. Eine weiteres Werk des Malers im Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dijon könnte als Pendant zu vorliegendem Gemälde gesehen werden. (†) (1252085) (10)
