Ab Mitte der 1880er-Jahre begann Lohr zu reisen. 1884 setzte er nach Amerika über und stellte auf der New Orleans Exhibition aus. 1887 reiste er nach San Francisco und ab 1890 mehrfach nach Mexiko, wo er sich schließlich niederließ und zahlreiche Ansichten schuf. Eine dieser Ansichten – mit dem bekannten majestätisch emporragenden schneebedeckten Vulkan Popocatepetl – können wir mit diesem Werk anbieten. (14505713) (13)
