In einem Fjord, begrenzt von schneebedeckten Felsstrukturen, ein bemanntes Ruderboot und ein angelandetes Segelboot nebst einer Hafenanlage in Holzbauweise. Der Künstler begann seine Ausbildung 1847 bei H. Reusch in Bergen, 1855 war er Privatschüler von H. Gude in Düsseldorf. Mit Hilfe eines Stipendiums konnte er 1861 nach Paris gehen, wo er bis 1866 ansässig war, später pendelte er zwischen Düsseldorf, Bergen und Paris. (1390152) (13)
