Der Kopf schräg geneigt, mit Blick nach halbrechts oben, das Haar über der Stirn mittig geteilt, zieht gewellt nach hinten, umzogen von einem Haarreif, das seitliche Haar über die Oberkante der Ohren ziehend. Die Schultern nackt, mit leicht betonter Wiedergabe des Schlüsselbeins. An der Rückseite grob behauen, das Haar des Hinterkopfs nur kursorisch behandelt. Der Figurenstil weitgehend orientiert an der klassischen Antike, wobei offen bleiben muss, ob es sich um einen Jüngling oder um den Musengott Apollo handelt. Grünlicher Stein, Pietra Serena Bigia/ "Macigno".
In der Expertise werden zahlreiche bildhauerische Beziehungsexponate genannt, die den Kopf als Apollo-Typus verifizieren. Mit ausführlicher Literatur und Beispielangabe der aufgeführten Werke in Museen. Was die Einordnung des Bildwerks in den Zeitraum der Renaissance betrifft, so vergleicht die Ausführung der Expertise den Kopf mit einem Werk in der Kirche Santa Croce, Florenz, Maria nell "Annunciazione Cavalcanti" des Anonimo Magliabechiano. Ferner wird als Vergleich die Figurengruppe "Daphnis und Chloe" von Annibale Caro genannt oder das Werk "Arcadia" von Jacopo Sannazaro. Auf die letztgenannten Werke wird als Ideenquelle Bezug genommen für den genannten Bildhauer "Il Tribolo". Ferner wird eine Zeichnung angeführt, die sich im Cabinet des Dessins im Louvre befindet (Keutner, 1965, Giannotti, 2007, S. 88 - 89).

Beigegeben eine Expertise von Giancarlo Gentilini, Florenz, 11. September 2013, mitunterzeichnet von Lorenzo Principi. Die Expertise weist das Werk dem genannten Künstler zu.
