(1120602) (11)

MADONNA OF THE ROSARY
Oil on canvas.
123 x 100 cm.
The painting is a variation of the subject of "Maria Rosario", the Madonna of the Rosary, a subject that has been painted many times as the result of its Christian Mariological tradition. The painting's style easily compares with other works, for example by the Antwerp master Gerard Seghers (1591 - 1651) and also Erasmus Quellinus II. (1607 - 1678), which justifiably suggests a master from the Antwerp School as the creator of the painting on offer for sale in this lot.
